Role Overview

The Project Manager develops coordinates implements and manages all facets necessary to construct a ground-up healthcare project in Baton Rouge on time within budget and to the quality specified. The PM provides leadership and serves as the liaison between project team members to promote the interest of both the business and the client in all matters and is the primary leader for the construction project.

This is an on-site assignment in Baton Rouge for the duration of the project approximately two years. This role may be filled at varying levels from Project Manager through Senior Project Manager based on the candidates skills experience and overall qualifications. Final job title scope of responsibility and compensation will be determined accordingly.

Core Responsibilities

  • Maintain adherence to company standards of safety and ensure that required documentation is filed.
  • Create and manage the project budget for all assigned projects.
  • Develop and collaborate on the pre-construction RFP package.
  • Conduct project meetings set milestones and formulate monthly owner reports.
  • Establish job processes including RFIs submittals and pay applications; approve pay applications and negotiate subcontract change orders.
  • Perform project scheduling ensure project quality control and establish overall project logistics.
  • Manage the closeout process efficiently.
  • Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs and explain how those needs can be met by specific company services.
  • Supervise assistant operations support roles such as assistant project managers administrative assistants MEP managers and safety team members.
  • Collaborate with the project superintendent and site operations team throughout the life of the project.
  • Coach train and educate assistant-level operations team members.
  • Sustain existing client relationships and develop new client relationships.

Required Background

  • Four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction engineering or business strongly preferred; in lieu of a degree additional work experience is acceptable
  • 5 years of experience in commercial construction including experience with a commercial general contractor
  • Previous experience in a project management role on ground-up healthcare or medical facility construction
  • Ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously
  • Mastery of reading interpreting and updating construction drawings
  • Ability to master sector- and project-specific software systems including Microsoft Office (Project Excel Word Outlook PowerPoint) Procore Adobe Bluebeam and JD Edwards
  • Knowledge of current market conditions including pricing conventions and trends
  • Ability to organize necessary resources including people tools and time to meet tight deadlines and achieve desired results
  • Willingness to be based on-site in Baton Rouge LA for the full duration of the project
