Project Manager-Excavation

Delaware Valley Paving is seeking an experienced and driven Excavation Project Manager to join our growing team. This role is responsible for managing excavation site development utility grading and earthwork projects from pre-construction through closeout.

The ideal candidate is highly organized solutions-oriented and capable of managing multiple projects while maintaining strong relationships with customers field personnel subcontractors and vendors.

• Manage multiple excavation and site development projects simultaneously.
• Review plans specifications contracts and project scopes.
• Develop project schedules and coordinate labor equipment materials and subcontractors.
• Monitor project progress and proactively address challenges to keep projects on schedule.
• Conduct site visits and project meetings to ensure quality and productivity.

• Manage project budgets costs and profitability.
• Review and approve invoices purchase orders and subcontractor payments.
• Prepare and negotiate change orders.
• Track labor productivity and equipment utilization.
• Forecast project costs and maintain accurate reporting.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for owners contractors engineers and municipalities.
• Attend project meetings and provide regular updates.
• Build long-term customer relationships through exceptional service and communication.

• Work closely with Superintendents and Foremen to coordinate daily operations.
• Support crews with project planning logistics and problem-solving.
• Ensure crews have the equipment materials permits and resources needed for success.

• Promote and enforce company safety standards and OSHA requirements.
• Ensure compliance with all project specifications permits and regulations.
• Participate in safety meetings and incident investigations when necessary.

• 5 years of experience in excavation sitework underground utilities grading or heavy civil construction.
• 3 years of project management experience.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Site development
  • Earthwork and grading
  • Stormwater systems
  • Underground utilities
  • Construction scheduling
  • Project budgeting
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office.
• Valid drivers license.

• Bachelors Degree in Construction Management Civil Engineering or related field.
• Experience with public works and prevailing wage projects.
• OSHA 30 Certification.
• Experience with Bluebeam HCSS Agtek Tenna NetSuite or similar construction software.
