Project Engineer (Transportation)
Horner & Shifrin is seeking a full-time Project Engineer to work in the Illinois region of our Transportation business unit. The position requires 5 years of experience. This position is responsible for assisting & leading project teams developing engineering solutions and delivering a thorough and comprehensive end product.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Assigned specific high-responsibility-level tasks on project teams
- Resolve engineering problems and tasks as they are assigned with help as needed from more experienced staff
- Perform transportation engineering analyses and calculations
- Prepare and write engineering and other reports
- Work as part of a team to complete general transportation engineering services for municipal county and state agencies
- Assist in the preparation of reports and feasibility studies
- Develop engineering plans specifications and estimates (PS&E)
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Licensed Professional Engineer (preferred)
- Ability to lead manage and schedule staff to meet project needs
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Experience working with the Illinois Department of Transportation and local municipalities (preferred)
- Use of Microsoft Office Products (e. g. Word Excel Outlook)
- Proficient in the use of MicroStation with OpenRoadsDesigner/Geopak or AutoCAD with Civil 3D
- Must possess a valid drivers license
- Must complete a background check

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
SALARY RANGE:
