Job Summary
Candidate will be responsible for engineering material handling systems. Each system is custom designed per client based on the optimal solution. This requires a team effort of mechanical engineering electrical engineering industrial engineering controls software and project management. The team will develop and implement a design concept that satisfies the customers requirements for safety functionality reliability throughput and expense.
- Participates in Designing/Enhancing conveyor systems as well as various automated and semi-automated material handling systems; may work on phases of a larger project or an entire smaller project
- Assists in the review of product design for compliance with engineering principles company standards and customer requirements and specifications
- Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems
- Creates approval permit and installation drawings using AutoCAD
- Obtains material and product quotes from vendors and issues purchase orders
- Monitors the project schedule engineering time and material costs
- Works with other disciplines on the project team to make sure the engineered solution and all equipment fit within system confines and constraints
- Travels up to 20% to measure buildings inventory equipment commission systems and interface with customers
- Participates in continuous improvement projects
- Assists in resolving engineering issues by working with customers vendors and other team members

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline preferably Mechanical or Industrial or equivalent experience
- Experience such as an internship within the material handling industry
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Requirements:
- AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks proficiency
- Microsoft Office skills Word Excel Power Point and Project.
- Ability to handle intermediate size project assignments with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of the material handling business and ability to assist across teams and divisions
- Ability to interface effectively with internal and external customers vendors consulting engineers architects and installers
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Team-oriented and collaborative
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Ability to learn new technology
- Must be able to speak read and understand the English language
