Job Summary
SummaryBalfour Beatty is seeking a Project Engineer to join the Carolinas Division in Charlotte. The ideal candidate will be a motivated detail-oriented professional eager to start a career in construction project management. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in all phases of construction and serves as the foundation for future growth within Balfour Beattys project operations a Project Engineeryoullwork closely with project leadership toassistwith planning scheduling documentation and coordination between team members subcontractors and exposure to multiple construction disciplines while developing the technical organizational and leadership skills needed to manage projects successfully. This position is ideal for someone who is eager to learn grow and contribute to projects that reflect Balfour Beattys commitment to quality innovation and ourZero Harmsafety FunctionsSafety Support:Promote and enforce safety rules and regulations;assistwith subcontractor orientations and safety documentation; perform and document weekly inspections in alignment withZero Harm. Preconstruction Assistance:Attend and document preconstruction meetings; help develop scopes of work and bid packages; support document control and distribution of revised specifications and drawings. Planning & Scheduling:Assist inidentifyinglong-lead itemsmaintainingmaterialexpeditinglogs and preparing submittal schedules;participatein pull planning and critical path meetings. Project Coordination:Administer the RFI and submittal process ensuring all documents are coordinated across trades reviewed and approved in support of project schedule milestones. Field Support:Track subcontractor progress and ensure workcomplies withplans specifications and quality requirements;maintainas-built drawings and documentation. Quality Control:Assistin developing andmaintainingquality control programs and tracking systems; coordinate inspections and help resolve deficiencies. Cost & Documentation:Support the change management process prepare progress reports andassistwith meeting documentation and correspondence. Closeout:Assistin project turnover by compiling closeout documents owner manuals and as-builts; coordinate owner training and ensure all items are properly documented and degree in Construction Management Civil Engineering Architecture ora relatedfield. Knowledge of construction drawings specifications and project coordination principles. Strong attention to detail organization and communication skills. Proficiencywith Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook). Demonstrated interest in pursuing a long-term career in construction ExperienceInternship or co-op experience with a commercial general contractor and/or 1 year past experience. Proficiencywith project management software such as Procore Primavera P6 or Bluebeam. OSHA 30 certification and First Aid training (or ability to obtain).
