Project Director I (Part-time)

Job Summary
EDC has an opening for a part-time Project Director I working 20 hours per week (50% LOE) and reporting to the Community Birth & Doula Initiative (CBDI) Director in Massachusetts. This position will support operations and implementation of multiple grants advancing perinatal care access in Massachusetts and nationally. This growing portfolio of work focuses on building access to doulas midwives and community birth centers through systems strengthening development of networks of care and seamless transfer pathways and workforce support and development. CBDI works closely with state and national professional organizations and associations community organizations parent/family partners and others. Areas of focus may include: improving perinatal outcomes for birthing people of color those impacted by substance use disorders those facing housing insecurity and supporting data-based quality improvement systems. CBDI also focuses on expanding options for perinatal care for birthing people and their families enabling integration of the community midwife model of care into diverse service delivery settings and supporting diversification of the community-based perinatal workforce.
The person in this position is expected to communicate clearly and courteously; to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients consultants collaborators co-workers field sites and funders; and to work respectfully with EDC colleagues. The job requires adherence to EDC policies & procedures.
The Project Director I:
- Is responsible for operational success and the coordination of project activities to advance program objectives
- Manages performance and adherence to schedules contract requirements and quality standards
- Provides capacity building support and technical assistance to CBO sub-agreement partners
- Develops and oversees program processes and systems
- Contributes to strategic direction priorities and implementation timeline revisions
- Oversees project monitoring andadministrative support
- Contributes to business development opportunities and portfolio growth
- Builds positive client vendor and funder relations
- Supervises technical &/or administrative staff; may have administrative supervision over 1-3 staff
Qualifications :
This position requires educational achievement; demonstrable initiative creativity and flexibility; ability to work independently and effectively in groups; and strong interpersonal & organizational skills.
Education:
- Masters degree or equivalent combination of training & experience required in a related discipline: public health; sociology public administration
Skills & Experience:
- 5-7 years related experience (or Masters degree plus 3 years) in the management of a multi-stakeholder projects or initiatives related to maternal and child health
- 35 years experience with administrative staff supervision
- 3-5 years experience working on projects related to community midwifery freestanding birth centers or reproductive autonomy
- Demonstrable oral and written cross-cultural communication skills
- Knowledge and understanding of the certified professional midwife model of care
- Excellent analytical skills and aptitude for details
- Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite including Excel
- Willingness and ability to travel within the United States including by car train or plane up to 5% of time
Preferred Education Skills & Experience:
- Experience working with state perinatal quality collaboratives
- Experience running community-to-hospital perinatal transfer of care simulation drills

The starting full-time equivalent base salary range for this position is $76000 to $95000.
