Job Summary

Job Title: Project Consultant 2

Location: Birmingham AL

Duration: 12 months contract

Work Schedule: 5 days on-site 8am-5pm

Job Description:
Summary of Position Duties
Assist permit coordinators with activities related to state county and municipal permitting.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable utility accommodation requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation permitting requirements and guidelines.
  • Assist with oversized-load route reviews and permit coordination.
  • Assist with temporary traffic control plan reviews in accordance with current traffic control standards.
  • Assemble review submit and track permit applications.
  • Communicate permit status updates to project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and internal teams to resolve permitting issues.
Required Experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Access Outlook Word PowerPoint Excel and Teams.
  • Experience with CAD software and GIS applications.
  • Understanding of plan and profile drawings and cross-section layouts.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools used to plan execute and monitor projects.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with transportation municipal or county permitting processes.
  • Ability to read and understand legal documents related to utility permitting and relocation including easements right-of-way agreements and relocation agreements.
  • Familiarity with temporary traffic control standards and roadway work zone requirements.
  • Experience using project tracking and collaboration software.
Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Business Project Management or a related field preferred.
OR
  • Minimum three years of experience in utility transmission distribution telecommunications infrastructure engineering design construction or field operations preferred.
