In this role you will be working as a Project Buyer for a client that manufactures embedded ruggedized electronics computer boards computer systems and ethernet switches used in industrial medical military and scientific applications. This position will be responsible for managing purchasing activities for electronics including components circuit boards enclosures materials and outside services.
The Project Buyer will act as the main point of contact for purchasing-related issues for this product line and will work closely with manufacturing sales engineering document control suppliers and local/offshore contract manufacturers. Responsibilities will include sourcing components developing vendor relationships managing purchase orders and production schedules coordinating push-outs and pull-ins tracking order status resolving invoice and supplier issues supporting cost reduction initiatives and helping implement lead-time reduction and safety stock programs.
This position is available on a Contract to Permanent basis. This role must be worked on-site in their Sunnyvale CA office.
Pay: $38 - $44 / hr depending on experience
Must be W2 under contract. Cannot be Corp-to-Corp or 1099.
Job Requirements
- 5 years of experience in purchasing procurement or buyer/planner work
- Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment strongly preferred
- Ability to manage purchase order schedules supplier communication push-outs pull-ins ship dates and production-related updates
- Experience working cross-functionally with manufacturing sales engineering suppliers and document control teams
- Proficiency with Spreadsheets
- Experience in an ISO 9000 environment
