This Product Manager role supports Ford Credit Insurance Operations by managing the Insurance Center of Excellence and assigned insurance products if applicable ensuring compliance coordinating with key business partners and serving as a subject-matter expert for internal and external stakeholders.
The Product Manager will be responsible for revamping and enhancing the Insurance Operations Center of Excellence and supports training competitor analysis SharePoint/database improvements and updates and enterprise insurance addition the position may manage insurance products and related projects from end to end including policy updates renewals coverage reviews regulatory filings claims support rate reviews reporting and customer service. The role works closely with the Legal department Compliance Actuarial Services Accounting Financial Analysis Ford Credit Ford Motor Company dealers and claims teams to ensure products are competitive compliant and aligned with customer needs.
Responsibilities
What youll do...
Manage the Insurance Operations COE (Center of Excellence) including but not limited to
Redesign and enhancement of the COE SharePoint site and database housing all of Fords insurance relationships across the enterprise. Develop create and submit reports regarding the database to team members and senior management.
Monitor the list of subscriptions donations and memberships for the department and work with colleagues who own the various relationships
Act as the Insurance expert for the Ford Enterprise coordinating and collaborating with other Insurance departments to solve problems and answer insurance technical questions
Complete competitor analysis and documentation for all Insurance Operations products or potential new products with updates every 6-12 months to verify data is current
Work with Learning & Development on training for Insurance Operations employees
Manage insurance products and projects as assigned.
Become the SME (Subject Matter Expert) on the assigned products operating as the single point of contact and the responsible person
Ensure the quality of the products through continuous evaluation and identification of enhancements
Verify the products meet the customers needs including dealers
Ensure the competitiveness of the program
Review and update policy and endorsement language as needed and obtain Legal concurrence
Update Dec pages issue and renew policies by the effective date
Work with the AMRO (American Road Services Company LLC) field adjusters regarding coverage questions and claims
Primary liaison to the customers both internal and external administrators and/or agents
Work with the Legal team to verify all aspects of the products are compliant with insurance laws
Work closely with Insurance Accounting Financial Analysis and other departments as necessary to confirm their understanding of the products and assist with reporting
Work with Compliance to ensure Rate & Rule and Policy Form filings are processed in a timely manner and meet state regulatory requirements where applicable
Coordinate with the Actuarial team in developing and proposing rate reviews and presenting to the GIPRC (Global Insurance Pricing and Review Committee) for approval
Provide reports and updates to senior management
oVerify adherence to policy terms & conditions and coverages
oProvide a high level of customer service to Ford Motor Company Ford Credit and dealers
oEnsure compliance with Ford Global Policies and regulatory (SOX) requirements
Oversee and administer loss prevention techniques where applicable
oProvide internal and external training assistance to Ford Credit/Ford Motor Company American Road Claims Center (ARCC) and American Road Services Company LLC (AMRO) field personnel related to claims
Complete the MCRP (Modular Control and Review Program) related to applicable responsibilities and resolve any issues in a timely manner
Lead and/or participate in special projects as applicable and assigned
This position is an individual contributor and does not have direct reports
Qualifications
Youll have...
Bachelors degree in Insurance Risk Management Business Administration Finance or a related field
10 years of experience in Captive Insurance Management or a combination of Captive Insurance Management and P&C Insurance including product management underwriting and/or claims
Understanding and ability to work in Sharepoint to develop a database and resulting reports
Demonstrated experience managing insurance products end-to-end (policy issuance renewals coverage review)
Solid understanding of P&C policy structure including policy language endorsements and Declaration pages
Working knowledge of state insurance regulatory requirements including rate rule and form filing processes
Understanding of claims handling processes and ability to liaise effectively with field adjusters
Familiarity with loss prevention/loss control principles
Proven ability to act as a subject-matter expert and single point of contact for assigned products
Strong written and verbal communication skills including experience presenting to committees or senior leadership
Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple products/initiatives simultaneously
Excellent customer service orientation with experience serving both internal and external stakeholders
Attention to detail and a compliance-first mindset particularly regarding regulatory and audit requirements (e.g. SOX)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel and PowerPoint
Even better you may have...
Experience in international insurance business is preferred
Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) Associate in Risk Management (ARM) or other insurance designation is a plus
Experience working cross-functionally with Legal Compliance and Actuarial teams
Basic understanding of insurance accounting and financial reporting concepts

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $115500-$218100.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidates skills and experience and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope responsibility and competitive market value.
Internal applicants: moving into this role may result in an adjustment to your current compensation based on the posted pay range for this role taking into consideration your qualifications and other relevant factors.
