Job Title: Grand Canyon Program Manager
Department: Grand Canyon Chapter
Location: Remote. This position requires an ability to travel.

Scope: The Chapter Grand Canyon Program Manager is responsible for ensuring that the Chapters approved Grand Canyon program objectives are implemented. Participates in the development of program strategies with directly-impacted communities and partner organizations. Works closely with volunteer leaders and directly-impacted communities on the Grand Canyon campaigns.
Develops and implements campaign strategies for Grand Canyon programs and projects in accordance with the chapter policy.
Recruits and motivates volunteers and enables their role in the effectiveness of the chapter. Coordinates and facilitates grassroots involvement in Grand Canyon programs.
Works with volunteer leaders and other interest groups to identify recruit and organize volunteers for Grand Canyon campaigns.
Makes presentations to community political and governmental bodies regarding Grand Canyon efforts. Writes press releases newsletter articles flyers social media posts etc. to keep the Club membership and the general public informed.
Works closely with media representatives and directly-impacted communities including Indigenous communities to ensure that the message of the Club is accurately represented by the media.
Works on task forces committees etc. representing the Sierra Clubs objective or mission as determined by supervisor.
Seeks opportunities to advance the Sierra Clubs equity inclusion and justice initiatives through new partnerships and engagement strategies where appropriate especially with Indigenous communities and activists.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
2 years experience in the environmental field that includes research and organizing campaigns media relations and public speaking.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proficient computer skills
Demonstrated ability and effectiveness working with volunteers and directly-impacted communities.

Experience working with or in Indigenous communities.
Knowledge of the greater Grand Canyon region.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position is $68500 annually.

This is a category 4 exempt position.
