Job Summary

Program Manager Boston University Marine Program (BUMP) Are you passionate about marine science higher education and creating exceptional student experiences Boston Universitys Marine Program (BUMP) is seeking an organized collaborative and proactive Program Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of one of the Universitys signature experiential learning programs. This role serves as the operational hub of the Marine Program supporting students faculty and academic partners while managing program finances coordinating courses and field experiences and helping shape the programs future. The Program Manager works closely with faculty University departments and external partners to ensure the successful delivery of academic programs including the Marine Semester in New England and Belize.

What Youll Do As the Program Manager youll play a key role in supporting every aspect of the Marine Program by:

  • Managing the programs daily operations financial administration budgeting fiscal reporting and donor accounts.
  • Coordinating Marine Semester courses including course planning student applications and registration travel logistics field experiences and partnerships with organizations in New England and Belize.
  • Supporting Marine Science students through academic advising curriculum planning and the development of advising resources in collaboration with faculty and the CAS Advising Office.
  • Planning and coordinating major program events including orientation commencement activities faculty meetings seminars and special events. Helping maintain a safe learning environment by coordinating student safety training monitoring field readiness requirements and supporting dive and field safety protocols.
  • program communications including website updates social media marketing materials alumni outreach newsletters and recruitment activities.
  • Maintaining inventories of scientific equipment instructional materials field gear and technology used to support teaching and research.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with academic partners including the University of Belize the New England Aquarium and Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary.
  • Supervising a student employee by providing training assigning work scheduling hours and monitoring performance.

Required Skills

What Were Looking For:

  • Bachelors degree required and 3 years of experience.
  • Experience in program administration higher education academic operations project management or a related field.
  • Strong financial management and budgeting skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience coordinating events travel logistics or academic programs is highly desirable.
  • Comfort working with a variety of technology platforms websites databases and Microsoft Office applications.
  • An interest in marine science environmental education or experiential learning is a plus.
