Position Summary

Orientation and Transition Programs

• Coordinate the planning implementation and assessment of New Student Orientation transfer student transition programs and Week of Welcome initiatives.
• Coordinate cross-campus efforts to ensure successful onboarding experiences for new and returning students.
• Develop programs and resources that promote student connection belonging and academic success during critical transition periods.
• Assess program effectiveness and implement continuous improvements to enhance student engagement and retention.

Living-Learning Communities and Residential Engagement

• Provide leadership and oversight for Living-Learning Communities (LLCs) and other themed residential engagement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Residential Education & Housing staff faculty academic departments and campus partners to create intentional learning experiences within residential communities.
• Support the development implementation and assessment of living-learning programs that promote student success belonging leadership development and community engagement.
• Utilize student participation and assessment data to evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
• Oversee the recognition support training and development of student organizations and student leaders.
• Advise and support student organization officers and advisors in the effective operation of campus organizations.
• Develop and implement leadership training opportunities designed to promote student growth civic engagement and community responsibility.

Prevention Education and Community Development

• Partner with the Dean of Students Office Residential Education & Housing Public Safety Title IX Counseling and other campus stakeholders to develop and implement educational and prevention initiatives.
• Coordinate programs and campaigns focused on wellness community standards bystander intervention safety responsible decision-making belonging and student success.
• Support the development of educational resources and outreach efforts designed to foster healthy and engaged campus communities. Utilize student feedback assessment results and campus climate data to identify emerging needs and implement proactive interventions.

Student Conduct and Community Standards

• Serve as a member of the institutional student conduct hearing team and assist in the adjudication of student conduct matters.
• Support educational sanctioning practices that promote student learning accountability and personal development.
• Collaborate with the Dean of Students Office to uphold community standards and institutional policies.

Assessment Reporting and Strategic Initiatives

• Develop and maintain assessment plans for Student Life programs and initiatives.
• Collect analyze and report data related to student engagement leadership development orientation participation student organizations living-learning communities and student success initiatives.
• Prepare reports presentations and recommendations for the Dean of Students and Student Affairs leadership.
• Utilize data-informed decision-making to enhance student experiences improve retention efforts and support institutional priorities.
• Assist with divisional strategic planning accreditation efforts and institutional assessment initiatives. Campus Collaboration and Institutional Service.
• Serve on institutional committees task forces and working groups as assigned.
• Collaborate with Enrollment Management Academic Affairs Athletics Residential Education & Housing and other campus partners to enhance the student experience.
• Represent the Dean of Students Office and Student Affairs Division at campus events recruitment programs family programs and community engagement opportunities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelors Degree.
• Demonstrated experience working with student organizations leadership programs and campus-wide initiatives.
• Strong communication organizational assessment and project management skills.

Preferred

• Masters degree in Higher Education Student Affairs Counseling Leadership or a related field.
• Experience with orientation and transition programs.
• Experience facilitating student conduct hearings or conduct processes.
• Experience supervising professional and student staff.
• Knowledge of student development theory retention strategies and best practices in civic engagement.
• Three or more years of progressively responsible experience in student affairs student engagement residence life orientation leadership development or related areas.
