Professional Development Educator Medical Assistant II

As a Professional Development Educator youll help MaineGeneral staff build the knowledge skills and confidence they need to provide high-quality care.

Youll work closely with leaders and interdisciplinary teams to identify learning needs develop meaningful education programs support new employee orientation and provide ongoing professional development. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys teaching mentoring collaboration and finding better ways to help others succeed.

What Youll Do

• Assess learning needs and develop education programs that support staff competency clinical practice regulatory requirements organizational policies and professional growth.
• Design deliver and evaluate educational programs using a variety of teaching methods and technology to make learning engaging and effective.
• Support new employee orientation and onboarding helping staff feel prepared confident and connected as they begin their work at MaineGeneral.
• Serve as a resource mentor and consultant to staff and leaders on professional development clinical practice education and program development.
• Promote evidence-based practice and continuous improvement by encouraging research scientific inquiry quality improvement and the use of current best practices.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify opportunities for education and development that support both staff and patient outcomes.

What Youll Bring

• Experience in healthcare education staff development clinical education or a related field.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
• Ability to assess learning needs and translate them into practical engaging educational experiences.
• Strong organizational and project-management skills.
• A collaborative approach and genuine interest in helping others learn and grow.
• Certification in health education preferred.
• Previous Work Experience: Work experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Certification: Certified by an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Education: Possession of an associate degree in Medical Assisting from an accredited school.

The hourly pay range shown represents the base pay range for this position. Individual pay is determined based on factors such as experience qualifications skills and market addition to base pay eligible team members may earn additional compensation through shift weekend holiday on-call and other applicable differentials.
