Location: Phoenix AZ% onsite (remote possible after FTE conversion)

Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 months then eligible for full-time state conversion) Full-time 40 hrs/week

About the Role

SunSoft Online is seeking a Production Support Java Developer for a contract-to-hire opportunity with an Arizona state agency. Youll join a dedicated Production Support Team focused on system uptime diagnosing complex production issues and deploying critical patches and enhancements across critical ongoing systems. Youll work as a full-stack generalist across the application stack automated testing UI/controller logic and back-end services and database operations on a team of 4-7 technical peers.

Required Experience

Minimum 5 years in Information Technology
Minimum 3 years developing Java web applications or web services
Expert hands-on knowledge: Java 17 Spring Boot Spring Framework Spring Security Oracle databases JSP Apache Tomcat JavaScript jQuery Bootstrap Git/GitHub Maven

Preferred / Plus

Spring Batch Spring Integration Oracle PL/SQL MyBatis FileNet
BDD/TDD Cucumber Selenium Jasper Reports
Atlassian Jira/Confluence
Agile Scrum secure development practices CI/CD

Education

Bachelors degree highly desired (Software Development or IT preferred)

Additional Details

Contract-to-hire: eligible for full-time state conversion after 6 months
Must be local to Phoenix (current location on resume) 100% onsite
Must be eligible to convert to FTE; no visa sponsorship (now or in future)
