Job Summary

SP Industries Inc. is hiring for our team inVineland NJand has an immediate opening for a Production Supervisor NMR Operations. This is a full-time front-line leadership role responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations within the NMR production area. This position ensures safe efficient and high-quality production while meeting customer requirements and On-Time Delivery (OTD) targets. The Supervisor provides direct oversight of production employees and leads coordinates daily activities resolves operational issues and drives performance in alignment with plant goals. The role will also support the continued development of NMR automation Kanban and continuous improvement initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise day-to-day NMR production operations ensuring safe efficient and compliant manufacturing.
  • Lead and support production employees and team leads through direction coaching training and performance feedback.
  • Execute daily production schedules to meet customer demand and OTD targets.
  • Monitor workflow staffing materials and equipment to maintain continuous production flow and minimize downtime.
  • Identify and resolve production issues escalating complex problems to the Production Manager or Plant Manager as needed.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) including productivity yield scrap labor efficiency downtime and OTD performance.
  • Promote and enforce all safety policies procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Support training and cross-training to build flexibility technical capability and operational coverage within the NMR team.
  • Lead shift start-up meetings and communicate daily priorities production goals safety expectations and performance results.
  • Own and maintain Kanban processes within NMR operations ensuring proper inventory levels material replenishment visual management and workflow to support uninterrupted production.
  • Partner with Engineering and Maintenance to support automation equipment reliability process improvements and troubleshooting.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety quality productivity cost and delivery performance.
  • Assist with inventory control and material management to ensure production requirements are met.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Minimum 35 years of manufacturing experience preferably in glass finishing or production operations
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage daily performance
  • Good communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment
  • Hands-on problem-solving skills with the ability to address operational challenges quickly and effectively
  • Experience with quality standards and production processes in a manufacturing setting
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement concepts preferred
  • Basic computer skills and experience working with production systems or ERP platforms preferred
  • Understanding of safety standards and compliance requirements in a manufacturing environment
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Additional training in leadership safety or Lean manufacturing is a plus

Salary Range: $75000 - $85000

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work is normally performed in both the office and the shop.
  • The office environment is an interior office with air conditioning.
  • The shop contains mobile equipment machinery and high voltages.
  • The shop noise level is variable and may require hearing protection in some areas.
  • The shop is heated when required but many areas are not air conditioned.
  • Some shop processes use high voltage arcs or concentrated magnetic fields.
  • The shop contains open flames and caustic chemicals.
  • Some areas of the shop may be designated as hard hat zones.

HSE:

Supervisors are responsible for promoting monitoring and enforcing work practices which support the prevention of workplace illness and injury as well as protection of the environment.

Supervisor responsibilities for Health Safety and Environment include:

  • Ensure that equipment materials and protective devices are functioning in a safe manner
  • Ensure that employees are working in accordance with divisional health and safety procedures
  • Applies progressive discipline as appropriate for health safety and/or environmental violations
  • Advise employees of the existence of any potential or actual health and safety risks
  • Provide appropriate instruction for safe work
  • Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of employees
  • Conduct periodic inspections and audits in accordance with legislative and/or corporate requirements
  • Conduct accident/incident investigations prepare necessary reports and communicate to line management health and safety personnel and health and safety committee
  • Ensure that all employees including temporary workers and contractors adhere to safety requirements including the use of personal protective equipment
  • Support activities and initiatives outlined by the Joint Health and Safety Committee
