Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor I leads and directs a team of employees in an assigned area of operationssuch as Metal Fabrication Assembly and/or Test.
The Production Supervisor I is accountable formaintaining a safe working environment and adhering to quality standards and is responsible formeeting customer demand schedules within established cost goals. Supervision may include themanagement of employees on more than one shift.
Essential Functions:
- Review and understand daily key performance indicators to evaluate current status and gap toplan and use this data to drive daily problem solving (8 Step 5 Why Cause and EffectFishbone) where required
- Ensure timely identification of quality issues using the non-conforming materials process toensure scrap and rework are properly processed
- Serve as liaison to other groups product lines and/or functional areas to ensure products arebuilt assembled and/or tested within appropriate parameters
- Review the daily allocation of resources to drive production schedule to meet establishedcustomer requirements
- Make staffing decisions in accordance with human resource procedures to build and grow theteam to meet the needs of the business
- Develop coach and mentor employees using performance planning to drive employee andbusiness growth
- Any other task assigned by supervisor or management
Non-Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with Engineering and Quality to define and modify manufacturing instructions
- Partner with the supply chain team to develop material replenishment system for themanufacturing areas
- Ensure equipment complies with calibration and maintenance procedures and requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area
- Knowledge: General understanding of cellular manufacturing practices; Basic understandingof manufacturing based continuous improvement skills (standard work 5S materialreplenishment etc.); Intermediate skill level with MS Office
- Skills/Abilities: Effectively communicate (written and verbal) with all levels of the businessand present to groups both small and large; Ability to align customer demand withmanufacturing capacity to develop labor planning/allocations; Ability to use data todetermine root causes of issue to drive focused corrective action
- Education/Certification: BA or BS degree in Operations Management or similar
Eligibility Requirement:This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous supervisory experience within an aerospace or electronics manufacturingenvironment
- Familiarity with web-based software
Work Conditions:
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
- Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limitedto eye safety glasses gowning masks hearing protectors heel/wrist straps and any otherrequired PPE
- May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises cold temperaturesconfined spaces dust or fumes
- Standing: 25% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task

Salary Range: $87765 - $111264 Annual USD
Several factors contribute to actual salary including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities skills training and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
