Who we are looking for:
Atkore a recipient of a Great Place to Work certification and a Top Workplaces USA award is searching for a Production Shift Supervisor to be based out of our Dallas TX manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Production Manager this person will be responsible for supervising production associates and processes that have responsibility for manufacturing PVC Injection Molded products.
What youll do:
- Lead using the Atkore Business System and Lean Daily Management within your team utilizing Lean tools for improvement projects focused on Safety Quality Delivery and Productivity.
- Supervise and support injection molding operations including machine setup start-up shutdown and troubleshooting.
- Monitor and optimize cycle times material usage and machine efficiency to achieve production goals.
- Ensure proper material handling to maintain quality standards.
- Implement cross-training activities to ensure proper operation of injection molding machines and maximize team flexibility.
- Coach team members to identify process issues perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards production schedules and quality specifications including dimensional checks and visual inspections.
- Partner with maintenance for mold changeovers and preventive maintenance.
- Manage vacation schedules and overtime.
- Lead by example and live the Atkore Values of Accountability Teamwork Integrity Respect and Excellence.
What youll bring:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; bachelors degree preferred.
- 2-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience in injection molding operations strongly preferred including:
- Machine setup and parameter adjustments (temperature pressure cycle time)
- Troubleshooting machine and mold issues
- Understanding of resins and how to process.
- High energy strong work ethic schedule flexibility and ability to work additional hours based on business needs.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills including conflict resolution.
- Continuous improvement background (GEMBA 5S Standard Work Kaizen Kanban etc.) and passion for growing your Lean experience.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment focused on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Within 3 months youll:
- Complete your Atkore Immersion Program
- Understand how your job will help deliver Atkores Business System through Lean Daily Management and the Strategy Deployment Process.
- Start supervising your direct team on daily requirements and managing without guidance.
- Understand safety quality delivery and cost opportunities and start prioritizing improvement needs.
- Gain an understanding of our products and processes.
- Follow and modify leaders standard work for daily weekly and monthly requirements.
- Review and sign-off on hour-by-hour boards send daily production reports and facilitate KPI board reviews.
Within 6 months youll:
- Participate in a Kaizen event relevant to your position.
- Take full ownership of the shifts Lean Daily Management including Tier 1 Gemba and KPI boards.
- Fully understand how you and your team impact Safety Quality Delivery and Cost (SQDC).
- Lead various training sessions for your team on machine operation troubleshooting and quality checks.
- Partner with Safety Quality and HR to investigate and provide corrective actions for on-the-job safety injuries customer complaints and employee relations issues.
- Identify ways to strengthen the teams commitment to Atkores core values of Accountability Teamwork Integrity Respect and Excellence.
- Coach for performance behavior and culture.
Within 12 months youll:
- Be leading an efficient team that meets or exceeds performance goals for SQDC.
- Identify gaps and implement counteractions to expected performance.
- Own formal improvement tracking including action plans.
- Create and update reports training materials and procedures as needed.
- Drive Lean Transformation for your shift; initiate and implement projects to improve SQDC.
- Have meaningful conversations with your direct reports to improve their engagement alignment and performance.
- Have meaningful performance conversations with your direct reports

As of the date of this posting a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $66320 - $91190. Placement in the range depends on several factors including but not limited to specific competencies relevant education qualifications certifications relevant experience skills seniority performance shift travel requirements and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include but not limited to overtime shift differentials bonuses commissions stock and other incentives.
