We are seeking an experienced Production Saw Operator Lead to oversee the daily operations of the saw department while leading and supporting a team of Saw this hands-on leadership role you will be responsible for setting up operating and maintaining saw equipment while ensuring production goals quality standards and safety requirements are consistently met.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with manufacturing experience who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and enjoys coaching team members while driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Production Responsibilities
- Set up and operate saw equipment according to production specifications.
- Measure mark and cut raw materials to precise dimensions.
- Read and interpret work orders blueprints and cut lists.
- Inspect materials and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
- Adjust machine settings for optimal performance and accuracy.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and blade changes.
- Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance concerns.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
- Maintain a clean organized work area using 5S principles.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Train mentor and coach Saw Operators on safe and efficient equipment operation.
- Assign daily work and prioritize production schedules.
- Monitor team productivity quality and performance.
- Provide coaching and constructive feedback to team members.
- Serve as the first point of contact for equipment troubleshooting.
- Communicate production goals schedule changes and safety updates.
- Assist with onboarding and training new team members.
- Partner with leadership on scheduling performance management and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing or warehouse experience.
- At least 1-2 years of experience operating saws or similar industrial equipment.
- Previous lead trainer or supervisory experience preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and delegate effectively.
- Experience with RF scanners or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is a plus.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand walk and operate machinery for extended periods.
- Lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

- Manufacturing and production environment.
- Regular exposure to machinery noise and moving equipment.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses gloves and steel-toe footwear.
