We are seeking a reliable safety-conscious Forklift Operator to support our manufacturing operations. The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely transporting materials throughout the facility to ensure uninterrupted production. This position plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy supporting shipping and receiving operations and meeting customer delivery requirements.Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts in accordance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
- Supply production lines with materials according to production schedules.
- Stage materials for production shipping and storage.
- Verify material quantities labels and locations before movement.
- Utilize RF scanners barcode systems or warehouse management systems to complete inventory transactions.
- Perform pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report equipment issues promptly.
- Assist with inventory counts cycle counts and inventory reconciliation.
- Maintain clean organized and safe work areas.
- Follow all safety quality environmental and company policies.
- Support Lean Manufacturing 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to operate powered industrial equipment for extended periods.
- Frequently stand walk bend reach and twist throughout the workday.
- Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Must meet vision and physical requirements necessary for safe forklift operation.
Required Skills and Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of forklift operating experience in a manufacturing warehouse or distribution environment.
- Ability to obtain certification upon hire.
- Basic computer skills and experience using RF scanners or inventory systems preferred.
- Ability to read shipping documents work orders and inventory labels.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as business needs require.
