Production Floor Coordinator is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations on the production floor while actively participating in hands-on fabrication activities. This position combines frontline coordination and real-time problem-solving.
Production Floor Coordinator ensures safe efficient and high-quality production by driving execution of daily priorities supporting operators and technicians and responding tactically to issues on the floor to meet operational targets.
Key Responsibilities
Production Floor Leadership & Coordination
Coordinate daily production activities to meet safety quality delivery and productivity targets.
Act as the point of contact on the manufacturing floor for shift execution and escalation support.
Provide real-time direction and decision-making to operators and technicians to maintain workflow continuity.
Monitor WIP tool status and staffing to ensure optimal line balance and throughput.
Foster a culture of accountability teamwork and continuous improvement.
Hands-On Manufacturing Support
Perform fabrication processes (lithography etch metals diffusion implant grind/polish test etc.) as needed to support production.
Set up operate and monitor specialized semiconductor equipment ensuring product quality and process compliance.
Step in during staffing gaps high-volume periods or critical operations to maintain output.
Team Leadership & Development
Serve as coach for technicians and operators on shift.
Train and mentor team members on processes equipment and best practices.
Reinforce adherence to standard work safety procedures and cleanroom protocols.
Work with the Shift Supervisor to coordinate work-in-process (WIP) flow ensuring efficient movement of materials to maximize throughput and operational output.
Operational Execution & Continuous Improvement
Drive execution of daily priorities aligned with KPIs (safety quality delivery cost inventory).
Identify and resolve operational issues escalating complex challenges as needed.
Contribute to process improvements efficiency gains and waste reduction initiatives.
Maintain accurate documentation data entry and reporting of production metrics.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems and all regulatory requirements.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment including proper use of PPE and handling of chemicals.
