Job Summary
This position is contingent upon contract award anticipated for September 2026.
Typical Responsibilities: Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.
- Maintain a working knowledge in the use of automated data processing equipment and government mandated software used for processing tracking preparing and reporting of all phases of ship repair and modernization.
- Maintain accurate records and create visual aids that clearly show the status of all jobs authorized planned and currently in progress.
- Learn and become proficient with the Validation Screening and Brokering (VSB) database to print Automated Work Requests (AWR) for routing and to assist ship SMEs in looking up and verifying that jobs have been screened to MARMC.
- Enter AWRs into the departmental tracker database and ensure all status and dates are accurate and up to date.
- Keep shop SMEs informed of work that needs to be accepted or rejected especially tasks critical to ships movements including COs concerns and Casualty Reports (CASREPS).
- Review all Automated Work Requests (AWRs)/ for accuracy and track each job from initiation through completion of the full routing process.
- Receive and review automated printout reports to identify inaccuracies errors or missing data and update or correct records as required.
- Print and prepare a weekly ship brief for multiple vessels using various corporate applications and databases including researching Automated Work Requests (AWRs).
- Compile a post brief summarizing all outstanding work and forward it to leadership for distribution.
- Track and route Formal Work Packages (FWP) Control Work Packages (CWP) and Maintenance Procedures (MP) from opening review through completion of the routing process in accordance with the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) using the departmental tracking database.
- Prepare correspondence to shop SMEs and Planners to confirm receipt of CWPs ensure proper distribution and address or resolve any noted discrepancies.
- Assist with the closeout and certification process for Formal Work Packages (FWP) Control Work Packages (CWP) and Maintenance Procedures (MP).
Typical Physical Activity:Mix of desk/computer work in an office environment and visits to waterfront/shipboard environments. May involve: repetitive motion traversing shipboard environments (e.g. confined spaces ladders hatches) or vision.
Typical Pay Range:The anticipated pay range for this position in the identified location(s) is $60000 $75000/year. Actual compensation offered will be based upon individual factors including education qualifications and experience.
Existing SECRET Security Clearance Required: This position requires an existing active or interim Secret security clearance prior to hire. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance; therefore only current U.S. citizens will be considered for this position. A candidate without a clearance but with highly relevant experience may be considered but still must obtain a clearance prior to hire.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three (3) years full-time hands-on technician experience in the assembly overhaul repair modification operation troubleshooting and maintenance of shipboard systems and equipment.
- Experience must include the following: Thorough understanding of the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) areas of planning and in-process work. Practical knowledge of Automated Work Request (AWR) write ups of structural mechanical and electrical engineering concepts practices regulations policies methods and techniques. General knowledge of work package procedures blueprints reading drawings and Navy ships technical manuals to verify technical characteristics of part numbers and required materials for ship maintenance and repairs.
- Working knowledge in the use of computer hardware and software programs required in the performance of assigned duties i.e. Microsoft Office Excel Access and PowerPoint. Ability to analyze procedures methods and prepare written reports.
