Job Summary
Laboratory Technician
As a Laboratory Technician you will be responsible for performing laboratory testing to provide reliable and analytical services to Operations and customers in a timely manner.
- Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies processes and maintaining safe practices at all times
- Completes material analysis to determine characteristics and waste profiles
- Makes determination of pH screens for oxidizers peroxides cyanides and sulfides and identifies fuel and water compatibilities
- Determines heat of combustion (BTU value) total halogens and completes water analysis (by Karl Fischer) percent solids and paint-filter liquids
- Utilizes Company Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Performs compositing packaging organizing and proper disposal of retain and other waste samples
- Stocks and organizes laboratory areas and storeroom with chemicals and laboratory supplies
- Performs instrument checks including refrigerators balances hoods thermometers and pipettes
- Utilizes and upholds good laboratory practices (e.g. QA/QC documentation maintenance/minor repairs housekeeping professionalism)
- Maintains ability to assist other laboratory shifts as needed
- Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization
