Reports to: Director - Global Sourcing and Production

Hours Available: M-F 8:30am-5:30pm EST (1-hour lunch break)
FLSA Class: Non-Exempt

Pay Range: $50000 - $55000(Actual compensation will be determined based on experience location and other factors permitted by law)

Job Summary: The Production Assistant will play a supporting role in the product development team by assisting with sampling production and administrative tasks. The Production Assistant supports the Production team by managing day-to-day tasks in production assisting with sample checking and vendor coordination and ensuring that delivery timelines are met. They are also responsible for entering and maintaining all PD SKU fields in the ERP system (NetSuite). This role plays a critical part in ensuring the efficient flow of product development and production processes maintaining quality standards and providing administrative and operational support to the department.

Essential Functions (included but not limited to):

  • Daily follow up with vendors on submit dates for all production components and sample approvals and updating these dates in WIP report daily.
  • Communicate daily with vendors to ensure timely delivery of production samples.
  • Assist in opening marking samples measuring comparing with approved standards updating BOM/TP and sending comments to vendors.
  • Assist in the approval of packaging and labeling of all products to meet production schedules.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining label guides for both domestic and international markets based on production comments.
  • Assist in creating and updating tech packs for all products.
  • Facilitate product testing with vendors to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Update final pricing and product dims (after approved) to NetSuite.
  • Work closely with the ProductionTeam to ensure all projects are handed over with complete information in a timely manner.
  • Act as a liaison between internal teams and vendors communicating updates and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Creating and maintaining libraries for all production fabrics/trims/labels/packaging etc.
  • Assist Production Specialists in working with Quality team as well as factories to resolve any quality issues.
  • Assist Production Specialists in collaborating with stakeholders to address and resolve issues with product approvals.
  • Coordinate invoices create POs and work with the finance department to ensure factory payments.
  • Assist Production Team managing smart and technical products from inception to shipping including creating cost comparison charts analyzing costs and negotiating with vendors.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational follow-up and communication skills
  • Strong detail orientation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience working within an ERP and/or PLM is a plus
  • Understanding of textiles packaging and product lifecycle is a plus
  • Comfort with quality standards and basic product testing
  • Strong aesthetic sensibility with an eye for design
  • Passion for product innovation and understanding of supply chain processes
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify
  • English literate and proficient (reading writing speaking comprehension)
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check is required

Preferred Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Textiles Merchandising Fashion or related field preferred. Will accept Associates degrees or relevant working experience.
  • Working experience with Adobe Illustrator.
  • Experience with international and domestic vendor coordination is a plus.
