Production Assembly Technician

Job Summary
The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a skilled Production Assembly Technician to join our this role you will build align and test high-precision Electro-Optical and mechanical systems in support of production Space/Satellite programs. You will also aid engineers in the development of test and alignment fixtures and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabrication and Integration:
- Fabricate subassemblies and perform integration of subassemblies with electrical optical and mechanical components for production units.
- Testing and Documentation:
- Independently follow detailed pre-approved work instructions and test procedures. Record detailed test data in Travelers.
- Resource Management:
- Support requests for parts materials and equipment required for assembly and testing of subassemblies.
- Ensure that all tools equipment and consumables are within calibration and expiration dates.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain detailed records of assembly processes testing results and any modifications made. Create comprehensive documentation outlining assembly procedures and troubleshooting techniques.
- Quality Inspection:
- Inspect products materials or components to identify defects or deviations from quality standards. Use various tools and techniques for inspection such as calipers gauges and testing equipment.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineers designers and other team members to provide feedback on design improvements and manufacturing processes.
- Additional Duties:
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of prior relevant experience or Secondary/Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to use hands in a skillful coordinated way to grasp and manipulate objects and demonstrate small precise movements.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions or test procedures.
- Must be a US Citizen.
Desired:
- Familiarity or experience with schematic capture design tools preferred.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and handle changing priorities.
- Willingness to learn new tasks/skills.
- Experience in process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen preferred.
- Hand soldering in compliance with J-STD-0001 space addendum a plus.
- Three years of experience building and testing custom complex high-precision electro-optical assemblies.
- Proficiency in fiber optic splicing processes and equipment including arc fusion splicers cleavers and re-coaters.
- Experience using optical sources power meters and optical spectrum analyzers to test optical components.
- General understanding of how to follow detailed work instructions and record required information in Travelers for traceability.
- Experience working in a Cleanroom environment (ISO Class 7) with proper safety precautions.
