Location: Reston VA (Hybrid -

Top Requirements (Must Be Clearly Visible on the Resume):

  • Prior ServiceNow Implementation experience as a Product Owner
  • Strong experience with ServiceNow CSM ITSM and/or CRM modules
  • 6 years of experience as a Product Owner
  • Proven experience building Product Roadmaps defining Product Vision and driving Product Strategy (not just execution)
  • Strong expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies including managing Product Backlogs Epics Features MVPs and User Stories
  • Experience supporting multiple Scrum Teams simultaneously
  • 8 years of total professional experience

Our client has an immediate job opportunity for a Scrum Product Owner who has specific expertise in ServiceNow Implementation Support. Knowledge of CSM ITSM and/or CRM Modules is preferred.

The selected Scrum Product Owner will be working with the Scrum Team Scrum Master External and Internal Project Stakeholders and Management Team on a ServiceNow Implementation Project.

The selected candidate will drive value to the business by building managing and maintaining a Product Backlog in collaboration with IT teams. Represents the business to the team and defines business purpose and value for them. Defines the details of what is to be done and the overall scope of the project for the product offering. Ensures that Acceptance Criteria are well-defined.

Plays a key role in shaping the product direction creating the feature(s) writing user stories and innovating collaboratively through Joint Application Development (JAD) and other brainstorming sessions.

Essential Functions

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Develops and aligns the Product Roadmap to strategic goals by working with customers both internal and external as well as stakeholders to analyze and document both business and technology needs.
  • Defines the Product Roadmap and uses it along with the Product Vision to develop epics and features and works with Business Analysts to create user stories that accurately reflect the desired product capabilities.

Backlog Management

  • Lead the efforts of defining the Product Backlogs by working closely with the team of Business Analysts Architects Technologists SMEs and Business Owners.
  • Builds a Product Backlog and reviews it with business owners to determine business value and to assign priority.
  • Determines the Acceptance Criteria and has the authority to accept or reject development team deliverables.
  • Is accountable for the success of the product or component under their purview.

Agile & Scrum Leadership

  • Guides Business Analysts on how to break down the Minimal Viable Product (MVP) into the user stories and shares expertise in writing effective user stories.
  • Provides inputs to the Scrum Master on improvement opportunities with grooming sessions.
  • Support culture change to improve delivery agility.
  • Provide coaching to team members who are new to Scrum and Agile Practices.
  • Supports team building and team development by utilizing the abilities and skills of individuals and fostering a feedback culture.
  • Mentors Product Owners to ensure their success.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engages with clients internal and external business partners key stakeholders and/or customers on an as-needed basis to educate and provide relevant information about the product.

Required Skills

Education

  • Bachelors Degree
  • In lieu of a Bachelors Degree an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of total experience
  • Last 6 years as a Product Owner
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile Processes and Principles

Must-Have Expertise

  • Seeking a Visionary and Roadmap Builder - not an execution team member only.
  • Must have experience building Roadmaps for Digital Product Advancements.
  • Prior experience supporting a ServiceNow Implementation as a Product Owner.
  • ServiceNow CSM ITSM and/or CRM Modules is required.
  • Product vs Strategy and Execution Expertise
