Rate of Pay: $99000 to $109000 per Year
Duties:
Conduct white gap analysis for existing brands and create concepts that fit our customer brand ethos;
Research ingredients for each category: skincare haircare and suncare and maintain an Innovation Ingredient Database;
Write formulas based on these concepts make samples and ensure stability to showcase new and existing brands;
Work on building an Innovation Library with potential shelf-ready formulas and concepts;
Create aesthetic presentations to present to top brands in the business portfolio;
Help business development by pitching new concepts and ingredients to potential customers;
Actively work with raw material vendors and act as a liaison with R&D to help with new ingredients to aid existing PDRs;
Conduct in-depth market analysis and keep up with beauty industry trends attend tradeshows and maintain vendor relationships. Telecommuting permitted up to 10%
Requirements: Employer will have a Masters degree in Chemistry Cosmetic Science or related field plus 2 years of experience in job offered or in a Product Development and Innovation Lead-related occupation.
Position requires demonstrable experience in the following:
Formulating personal care products with at least two years of experience in skin care and hair care.
Utilizing the principles of organic chemistry physical chemistry and cosmetic chemistry (including skin and hair processing) to understand how ingredients interact with each other and create stable formulations.
Working within the regulatory requirements of US EU and China to create globally compliant formulations.
Utilizing Over the Counter (OTC) experience including knowledge of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) monograph as well as global rules and regulations with respect to artwork and labeling.
Utilizing bulk manufacturing filling packing and kettle configuration knowledge to develop manufacturing process from scale up to commercial size with consistent quality.
Working within FDA regulations and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements to create OTC formulations; and
Utilizing expert knowledge of Chemistry and Polymer Science to interact efficiently with suppliers around the globe and select ingredients that are stable efficacious natural and meet the customers cost.
