A Beats Product Design Engineer is required to be innovative and collaborative with experience in designing developing testing and documenting mechanical design solutions. You will work in a highly collaborative fast-paced environment with teams across Apple including Industrial Design Electrical Engineering Acoustics Human Factors and Software to define product objectives design solutions and validate the performance of those designs through mass production all while keeping customer experience at the forefront. You will be given the opportunity to develop proprietary designs needed to enhance the functionality of our products. Your contributions will have a broad impact on everything from the overall system form factor to the smallest design details.

Mechanical design development in 3D u0026 2DnElectrical component and module integrationnCollaborating with cross-functional partners to understand and execute on critical integration and performance requirementsnPartnering with external vendors u0026 internal manufacturing teams to optimize designs for function manufacturability and cosmeticsnBuilding proofs of concept and prototypes testing and analysis

BS Mechanical Engineeringn3D CAD Expertisen2 years of product design experience or equivalentnExperience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) statistical tolerance analysis techniques functional dimensioning (GDu0026T) at sub-assembly and full system levelsnAbility to travel internationally (up to 20%)nFlexibility and comfort working in a rapidly changing environment

MS Mechanical Engineering or equivalentnHands-on consumer electronic product design experience in a fast-paced and high-volume production environmentnDirect experience with audio products and/or highly complex wearable devicesnExperience with NX TeamCenter or AgilenBroad range of experience designing for various materials and processes: plastic injection/compression molding metal machining metal forming/stamping extensive material finishing and cosmetic treatmentsnStrong analytical/problem-solving skills and ability to use statistical tools and techniques to support designnAbility to work with Industrial Design to assess product features for manufacturability and recommend capable processes equipment with component modules (audio drivers connectors batteries electronics packaging antennas PCBAs)nExperience working with overseas manufacturersnExperience with basic finite element analysis and general mechanical engineering analysisnExcellent written and verbal communication skills and people skills; ability to interact with management team members and external vendors to achieve project goals and contribute positively to the engineering community
