Job Summary
In Accessories Product Design you will directly interface with many system teams from Mac to Audio to Vision and everything in-between. You will design cable solutions in the most efficient and elegant ways possible. Use your creative intellect to drive the next generation of technologies into our cable designs all while balancing functionality with size reliability cost cosmetics and environmental goals.
Create engineering requirement documentsnDesign cables and assemblies to meet product and cross-functional requirements including Industrial Design Signal Integrity Reliability Safety Cosmetic Functional and other requirementsnReview and support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) module and system-level buildsnReview test results and drive failure analysis and corrective action supportnTravel of approximately 5-10% to Asia
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering n3 years of mechanical design experience nProficiency in 3D CAD and creating 2D drawings. nExcellent communication skills (verbal and written) including presenting technical data to multi-disciplinary teams. nExperience with designing injection and/or compression molded parts and/or stamped parts and/or deep draw metal parts.
5 years of product design in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) statistical tolerance analysis techniques functional dimensioning and geometric with component modules (Connectors batteries electronics packaging PCBAs)nUnderstanding of how to size wires select connectors and shielding to meet signal integrity and/or power requirements. nExperience with designing stamped sheet metal parts and/or deep drawn metal working with overseas analytical/problem solving skills and ability to use statistical tools and techniques.
