Procurement Officer

As the Procurement Officer you will manage sourcing purchasing and vendor relationships toensure the timely cost-effective delivery of goods and services that support NGNRIsresearch and will establish and optimize procurement processes oversee vendor selection andperformance and ensure compliance with relevant policies and standards. Working closelywith scientific and operational teams the successful candidate will support the acquisition oflaboratory equipment consumables and specialized is a critical enabling role balancing cost quality and reliability to ensure NGNRIsresearch programs run efficiently and without interruption.

About therole

• Develop and implement procurement policies procedures and best practices alignedwith NGNRIs operational needs

• Manage end-to-end procurement processes including vendor identification sourcingnegotiation purchasing and contract administration

• Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers of laboratory equipmentreagents consumables and services

• Support scientific teams in identifying appropriate vendors and sourcing specializedresearch materials

• Ensure timely procurement and delivery of critical items to support ongoing researchand operations

• Monitor and control purchasing budgets identifying opportunities for cost savingsand efficiencies

• Ensure compliance with organizational policies donor requirements and applicableregulatory standards

• Maintain accurate procurement records contracts and documentation

• Collaborate with MSU HFH and other partners where shared procurement or vendorarrangements are applicable

• Evaluate vendor performance and manage supplier risk

• Support inventory planning and coordination where applicable

• Provide reporting and analysis on procurement activities to leadership

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in procurement sourcing or supply chain managementpreferably in a scientific healthcare academic or nonprofit environment

• Familiarity with laboratory procurement including scientific equipment reagents andspecialized services is strongly preferred

• Experience negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships

• Strong understanding of procurement processes compliance and best practices

• Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Proficiency in procurement systems and standard office tools

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Experience working in a regulated or grant-funded environment is an asset

• Bachelors degree in business administration supply chain management or a relatedfield preferred

• Relevant certifications (e.g. CPSM CPPB) are an asset

• Equivalent experience will be considered
