Job Summary
We are Maersk and we are seeking a Procurement Manager Maersk Ground Freight (MGF) to support the growth and stability of our expanding final mile delivery network. This role combines strategic sourcing capacity procurement business development and stakeholder management to ensure we have the right independent delivery partners in place to meet customer demand.
Unlike traditional procurement roles this position focuses heavily on identifying recruiting onboarding and managing a network of independent haulers and delivery teams that support critical home delivery operations. You will play a key role in ensuring capacity readiness improving service quality reducing operational costs and strengthening relationships with both internal stakeholders and delivery partners.
This is a highly visible role that directly impacts customer experience delivery performance and network scalability. Success will require a strong blend of procurement expertise recruiting ability analytical thinking and relationship management.

- Develop sourcing strategies to expand local carrier networks and improve market coverage
- Build long-term relationships with independent haulers and delivery teams to ensure sustainable capacity
- Manage recruitment pipelines and onboarding activities for new delivery partners
- Negotiate competitive rates service agreements and operating terms with independent contractors and delivery partners
- Ensure supplier compliance with operational insurance safety and contractual requirements
- Manage vendor performance and develop corrective action plans when necessary
- Monitor market conditions and identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising service levels
- Analyze market capacity service requirements and operational trends to develop sourcing strategies
- Monitor KPIs related to capacity utilization service quality delivery performance and cost efficiency
- Support forecasting and capacity planning initiatives for peak and seasonal demand periods
- Utilize data to drive decision-making and continuously improve supplier performance
- Partner closely with Operations Customer Experience and Leadership teams to understand capacity needs and operational priorities
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support business objectives
- Serve as a trusted advisor on carrier availability sourcing strategy and market intelligence
- Support customer-facing discussions related to capacity service quality and operational improvements when required
- 3 years of experience in procurement carrier sourcing transportation logistics recruiting or supplier management
- Experience building and managing networks of independent contractors carriers or service providers
- Strong sourcing negotiation and vendor management capabilities
- Ability to proactively generate and develop new supplier relationships
- Experience within final mile home delivery transportation or logistics environments preferred
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data and identify opportunities for improvement
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Self-driven individual capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Familiarity with transportation systems procurement platforms and sourcing tools preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

- Salary Range: $94000 $104000 annually
- Bonus: 10% annual bonus opportunity
- Travel: Travel within the region as needed to support recruiting onboarding and supplier development activities
