- Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and team lead for assigned Production or Quality area on topics of Y15-232 Technical Procedure Process Y15-030GUD Technical Procedure Writers Guide Y15-235 Administrative Management Requirements and the Technical Procedure Workflow (TPW)
- Ensures day-to-day activities and procedure support meet customer needs and expectations within assigned area to meet surge needs when schedules deadlines and plant mission may be at risk
- In conjunction with Responsible Managers establishes and monitors procedure priorities and assigns procedure modification requests to technical writers
- Provides technical leadership and work direction in the Verification and Validation (V&V) of technical procedures against applicable requirements and structures systems and components to ensure procedures are technically accurate and are formatted correctly
- Supports maintenance of procedure database compiling procedure data for the development of monthly metrics coordinating procedure process assessments to verify compliance and identifying analyzing and developing procedure process improvements
- Walks down equipment with Engineers SMEs and end-users of procedures to research and develop new procedures modify existing procedures and validate the operational adequacy of procedures for applicable Production facilities dimensional inspection radiography and product quality groups
- Ensures procedures are written to a level of detail consistent with the qualifications and training of the expected users
- Participates in procedure improvement activities (e.g. eFlow cycle time reduction; metrics improvement)
- Serves as designee for the Y-12 Technical Procedures Manager in the absence of the Manager

- Bachelors degree and a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
- Ten or more years of relevant education tranining and/or progressive experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years of experience for this posting.
- Associate of Science degree or a Bachelors degree (preferred) in a communications education journalism or science discipline
- 2 years of experience in a National Security Complex commercial nuclear industry in the nuclear navy or in chemical manufacturing
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat Professional
- Experience in writing technical operational procedures maintenance procedures process procedures or fire protection/emergency management procedures is preferred
- The job level is based on relevant education and experience of the selected candidate
