Job Summary

Procedure Scheduler

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Schedule surgeries for patients
  • Schedule ancillary services and testing (MRI CT scans etc.)
  • Obtain insurance authorizations for above procedures
  • Manage phone calls with regard to above procedures
  • Counsel patients with regard to upcoming surgeries and testing

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service attitude
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Basic keyboard knowledge
  • Knowledge of scheduling protocols
  • High School Diploma or GED required

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Previous medical office experience that includes complex coordination of referrals testing or surgeries is preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting-- 80%
  • Standing-- 20%
  • Reaching-- 30%
  • Bending--20%
  • Lifting-- must be able to lift 40 lb

Location and Travel Requirements:

  • Onsite: GI Clinic - 1020 Craft Rd. Ste. Ithaca NY. 14850
  • Shift: 7:30am - 5:00pm M-F

Pay Range Disclosure:

  • $20.50 to $26.00 per hour
