The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized energetic individual to serve as Print Shop Technician. Under direct supervision this position will operate high speed digital printers digital color press and complex peripheral equipment including folder padding equipment three hole drill and offline booklet binder. The position will utilize a hydraulic paper cutter and perform bindery functions on an as needed basis and program and create job tickets and production information for print jobs. The position will also schedule and coordinate the running of print jobs and perform maintenance functions while also assisting the Storekeepers by unloading trucks and moving stock including paper and supply cartons weighing 50-70 pounds. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is interested in working in the Departments printing operations to ensure the efficient production of printed materials. - Serves as Print Shop Technician
- Schedules and coordinates the running of print jobs
- Performs maintenance functions including the cleaning and lubrication of moving parts as directed by productmanuals
- Assists the Storekeepers by unloading trucks and moving stock including paper and supply cartons weighing50-70 pounds
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumeratedabove
- Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school
- Requires one year of experience in the print reproduction trade
- Requires ability to pass a background check
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties. Requires appropriate valid drivers license
- This position is considered heavy work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567 (d). Heavy workinvolves lifting no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds
