Job Summary
VIZ Media the world leader in English-language versions of manga and anime (Japanese comics and animation) is looking for a temporary Print Designer to support our Creative department for a period of 3 months. The Creative team is responsible for the overall visual presentation of VIZ Media graphic novels trade books Blu-ray packaging promotional and convention materials and other such products. The Print Designer will be responsible for creating and designing a variety of artwork for VIZ Media products.
What youll do:
- Conceptualize and generate creative designs for the covers and interior design of graphic novels trade books Blu-ray packaging and potentially other VIZ Media print and digital promotional materials.
- Work with the Art Director and Senior Designers to help continue strategic and unified approaches for VIZ products while keeping on track with project status and deadlines.
- Ensure that the design direction fulfills VIZ Medias high standards in both concept and execution and recommend solutions to the main stakeholders of the project for potential improvements in aesthetic and design strategy.
- Willingly engage with feedback generate creative solutions and communicate with various departments to problem solve or address any concerns that may arise with the design and its execution.
In addition to these responsibilities perform other duties as necessary.
The ideal candidate has:
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign Illustrator Photoshop and Acrobat).
- Strong creative aesthetic sense and attention to detail a MUST.
- Ability to multi-task organize time prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to communicate and successfully interact with other departments and outside vendors to meet deadlines and maintain high quality.
- Knowledge of effective design strategies particularly as applicable to the publishing print media and/or entertainment industries
Work Environment & Schedule
Location: The temporary Print Designer position is open to candidates local to the San Francisco Bay Area. The Print Designer should expect to work onsite 2 days per week at our San Francisco office.
Schedule: This is a temporary full-time position with general hours of 9 am to 5 pm Pacific Time with some flexibility outside of core hours as needed. This temporary position will run for approximately 3 months from October 2026 through December 2026.
Compensation: This position will be compensated at a rate of $40-$50 an hour depending on experience.
