About the Role:

The Communications team builds the core social fabric of Roblox shaping how millions of users talk text and connect in real-time. As a Principal Product Manager for Communications you will tackle our most ambiguous and high-impact challenges while partnering deeply with Engineering Design Trust & Safety and Policy to ensure our communication tools are safe reliable and deeply engaging for users of all ages. Beyond building great products you will be a force multiplier including mentoring PMs and continuously raising the bar for product excellence across the organization.

This role is based in our San Mateo HQ and reports to the Director of Product Communication & Communities.

You will:

• Define and own the end-to-end product strategy for how users communicate on Roblox across text and voice and evolve new real-time communication capabilities over time.
• Lead large cross-org initiatives that span Public Comms Private Comms Comms Platform and partner teams (e.g. Connection Trust & Safety) from problem framing through launch and iteration.
• Act as a principal-level IC by directly owning a small number of the most complex high-impact bets including defining problem spaces success metrics and multi-release roadmaps.
• Mentor and elevate other PMs in the Communications group improving product discovery strategy docs PRDs and experiment design across pods.
• Partner deeply with Engineering Design Data Science and Trust & Safety to deliver safe reliable and delightful communication experiences for users of all ages at global scale.
• Represent Communications in senior forums driving alignment on tradeoffs and decisions through clear written narratives and data-driven reviews.

You have:

• 10 years of product management experience with significant time spent on consumer communications messaging social or real-time interaction products (e.g. chat voice small-group comms).
• A proven track record operating at principal-level scope: setting strategy for a large product area leading multiple cross-org initiatives and influencing VP stakeholders.
• Strong technical depth and experience partnering with senior engineers on architecture performance and reliability for large-scale distributed systems.
• Demonstrated success shipping and scaling communication features in complex environments that include safety policy or regulatory constraints (ideally in all-ages or trust & safety-heavy products).
• A history of improving product process and craft and raising the bar on how teams discover opportunities define problem spaces prioritize and experiment not just shipping your own roadmap.
• Expert written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build clear narratives drive alignment across many teams and make thoughtful data-informed decisions.

• A coach and multiplier excited to mentor PMs and raise the overall bar for product thinking and execution across the Communications org.
• Calm and decisive under pressure able to balance short-term execution needs with long-term strategic bets.
