Principal Technical Program Manager, NTN Satellite Payload and Devices Integration

Amazon Leo is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world and help close the digital divide. Amazon Leo will deliver service to a wide range of customers including consumers businesses government agencies and other organizations in places without reliable connectivity. We are expanding our solutions to Direct to Device (DTD) service.

We are looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead the satellite payload and device integration for the Leo direct-to-device (DTD) system. This is a high-impact role where your work will directly influence how quickly and reliably we deploy the DTD constellation and enable service to our customers. As a Principal Technical Program Manager you will own the end-to-end technical program strategy from planning to deployment of payload and device integration.

Key job responsibilities
As a Principal Technical Program Manager on our Leo DTD team youll lead technical program management of D2D payload and device integration ensuring our Amazon Leo NTN solution perform flawlessly in real-world environments.

Lead Technical Program Management of DTD Payload and Device Integration: Drive the program from early architecture and design through integration and qualification testing ensuring these critical systems meet performance reliability and schedule requirements. Your leadership will directly influence how the payload features and functions and devices are integrated and deployed as part of Amazons global non-terrestrial network (NTN). Youll develop mechanisms and processes connecting multi-disciplinary payload engineering business product management device vendors and partners test equipment vendors to manage the payload and device integration efforts in creating Amazon Leos 3GPP-based NTN solution.

Success requires deep technical judgment strong program leadership and the ability to drive alignment across complex engineering organizations. You will align teams across organizations remove obstacles bring structure to the program and ensure complex technical programs move forward with speed clarity and accountability. The role involves working closely with engineering leadership to drive technical trade studies and design decisions that balance performance schedule and interoperability. You will collaborate with engineering teams device hardware and software vendors chipset vendors and test equipment vendors to scale the DTD device integration with D2D payload and NTN network.

Own Program Planning Milestones and Risk Management. Develop and maintain program plans that track major milestones across D2D payload and device feature integration qualification testing device certification and deployment for end-to-end network readiness. You will proactively identify technical and programmatic risks build mitigation strategies and communicate clear status updates to engineering leaders and stakeholders to ensure alignment across the organization.

Enable Successful Integration and Test Campaigns. Partner with test and validation teams to develop strategies that demonstrate system performance and service launch readiness. You will coordinate complex testing activities including subsystem integration system-level validation and connectivity across the end-to-end network to ensure devices in the Leo DTD network are ready for customers.

Help transition from early DTD payload development into a large-scale device ecosystem that interoperates with D2D payloads across the Leo DTD constellation.


- 5 years of technical product or program management experience
- 7 years of wireless communications systems and implementation experience
- Bachelors degree or above in electrical engineering computer engineering or equivalent
- Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver products and projects on tight deadlines

- Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience dealing well with ambiguity prioritizing needs and delivering measurable results in an agile environment
- Masters degree in electrical engineering computer engineering or equivalent
- Experience leading large-scale verification validation and certification programs for wireless communications networks
- Experience in development test and deployment of handset and IoT devices onto 3GPP mobile networks
- Experience delivering programs for large cross-functional teams using data and metrics to provide insights and drive improvements

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
