The Principal Scientist Polymers is responsible for leading highimpact materials science and polymer engineering initiatives across complex crossfunctional product development programs from early concept through commercialization while driving innovation risk mitigation and strategic technical decisionmaking for implantable medical devices.

This position reports to the Director Engineering and is part of the Engineering organization located in Cincinnati Ohio and will be an onsite role.

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

• Provide scientific and technical leadership for highrisk highimpact development programs involving bioabsorbable polymerbased implantable devices.
• Develop and execute polymer material science and degradation strategies aligned with product performance manufacturability regulatory requirements and lifecycle needs.
• Serve as a technical lead for crossfunctional teams across R&D Manufacturing Quality Regulatory and Clinical functions.
• Drive innovation through polymer chemistry formulation processing and materials characterization.
• Mentor engineers and act as a trusted technical advisor to senior leadership.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field.
• Deep expertise in bioabsorbable polymer materials including degradation behavior structureproperty relationships and application in implantable medical devices.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex crossfunctional engineering projects.
• Extensive experience in medical device development including regulatory and product lifecycle considerations.
• Longstanding experience in polymer science materials development and manufacturing processes.

Travel Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role

• Ability to travel up to 20% including domestic and international travel with typical assignments of 25 days.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Masters or Ph.D. in a relevant engineering or materials discipline.
• Project management certification and/or Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.

The annual salary range for this role is $170000 - $180000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.

We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
