Pratt & Whitneys Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) HPC Design group seeks a goaloriented detailfocused Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to support the F135 Base or ECU HPC Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPTs). The selected candidate will take leadership roles in complex highpriority tasks and directly support Integrated Product Team Leader (IPTL) and program managers.

What You Will Do

Across Base and ECU programs you will:

• Develop innovative and technically sound design solutions that meet program schedule milestones.
• Lead producibility investigations with manufacturing vendors including EFPRs both remotely and onsite.
• Lead ECU Design Validation activities supporting manufacturing coordination and moduleintegration efforts.
• Apply advanced 3D modeling tools to refine component and modulelevel designs.
• Lead or support fieldincident investigations including rootcause analysis and correctiveaction implementation.
• Develop serviceable limits through advanced dataprocessing and crossdiscipline collaboration.
• Participate in handson multiweek engine teardowns at Tinker AFB.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary IPTs across design structures aero HT&SF manufacturing quality and other modules.
• Lead or assist with safetyrisk analyses and riskmitigation planning; present technical results to customers and program management.
• Mentor earlycareer engineers within the IPT/CIPT and design organization.
• Improve engineering efficiency using advanced datamining automated tools and AI.
• Domestic travel of 1020% may be required.

Qualifications You Must Have

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience or
• Advanced degree with 5 years of mechanicaldesign experience
• U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum tools
• Broad understanding of engine hardware 2D drawings MBD and manufacturing methods
• Experience with rotating hardware and airfoils
• Advanced datamanagement and processing skills
• Ability to leverage AI tools for improved engineering results
• Ability to work in fastpaced environments with strong attention to detail
• Proficiency with NX Teamcenter engineering standard work SAP Class I & II EC processes
• ANSYS experience desired

Compression Systems Engineering (CSE)

Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design development and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products.

Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering Mechanical Design Structural Analysis and Product Definition.

The salary range for this role is 107500 USD - 204500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
