Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a Mechanical Lead on an EPC Power Project.
- Provide strong leadership to drive mechanical technical design and project coordination.
- Manage Project Schedules and Budgets as well as provide weekly reports to communicate project status issues and needs.
- Prepare and maintain resource plans.
- Prepare equipment inquiry/RFQ packages.
- Perform equipment technical bid evaluations and prepare recommendations.
- Review equipment vendor documents for compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Develop job notes and technical scopes of work.
- Perform field walk downs to collect information required to complete work.
- Prepare man-hour estimates for proposals.
- Attend Client Vendor and Internal Team meetings.
- Present technical information to peers or other personnel for review to implement operating procedures and resolve system malfunctions.
- Independently evaluate select and apply standard engineering techniques procedures and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
- Provide specific to discipline technical expertise to the degree of preparing and providing training for other personnel: both within the company and for the customer.
- Lead coordinate and review work of a small staff of engineers and designers.
- As a Licensed Professional Engineer seals and signs documentation produced by own work. May also seal and sign work done by engineers under direct supervision.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering field.
- Professional Engineers License
- 15 years of experience working in the Power Refining or Chemical Industries.
- Strong background in heat exchangers pumps ASME pressure vessels and ASME piping codes.
- Experience in the specification of Power Plant Equipment including CTGs STGs and HRSGs.
- Knowledge of EPC Project execution model.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required for coordination with internal team members as well as Vendors and Clients.
- Willingness to learn and work on a variety of tasks within multiple industries.
- Willingness to travel and work in office and field environments.
- Strong desire for continuous improvement and career growth.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience as a Mechanical Lead on an EPC Power Plant design project.
Salary/Pay Rate:
In accordance with Illinois Equal Pay Act the expected salary range for this Illinois position Principal Engineer Mechanicalis between $165900.00 and $237473.60 annually. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience geographic location and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
