What You Will Do:

Control & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military commercial and industrial gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems. CDS is responsible for all aspects of Pratt & Whitney engine control and diagnostic system development including requirements analysis & definition system & software architecture algorithm design and product cybersecurity verification & integrate the control and diagnostic system design across other engine system modules and with the air vehicles and provide support throughout the complete engine product life cycle.

The Cybersecurity team is part of the Real-Time Embedded Systems (RTES) discipline within CDS. RTES is responsible for the foundational software layer that abstracts the hardware and manages the resources for engine control and prognostic and health management applications for P&W engines using state-of-the-art technologies tools & methodologies

Job responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership: Lead the requirements definition architecture and low-level design of embedded product cybersecurity software.
• Secure/Safe Architecture: Ensure compliance with cybersecurity requirements while maintaining adherence to airworthiness standards MIL-STD-516 and/or DO-178.
• Cybersecurity Maturity Assessments: Lead vulnerability assessments penetration testing Fuzzing / Resiliency Tests and other security evaluation.
• Capability Building: Develop deploy and automate security tools.
• Organizational Support: Foster adoption of the Avionics Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC).
• Mentorship & Strategy: Coach and delegate work to lower-level professionals review technical output and identify key process improvements to increase organizational efficiency.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelors degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
• 8 years of engineering experience or an Advanced Degree and 5 years experience

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Familiarity with NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) and Risk Management Framework (RMF)
• Strong focus on cybersecurity process governance and policies
• Exposure to key management lifecycle
• Demonstrate initiative reliability working across organizational boundaries
• Background in aviation safety processes

Controls & Diagnostics Systems (CDS)

CDS develops complex cyber-resilient control systems and software for commercial and military engines including power and thermal management Systems and auxiliary power units. CDS also develops advanced diagnostic & health management systems to monitor our products forecast events and help facilitate MRO operations. With growing emphasis on sustainability CDS is on the forefront of system development for hybrid and electric propulsion.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles commuting to and from the assigned site is the employees personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 107500 USD - 204500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
