Primary Care Physician

We are hiring a Primary Care Physician for one of our clients in Abilene TX.

Job Description:

• SSLC is in need of a Primary Care Physician to begin as soon as possible.
• This is for a caseload of around 35-45 people. They will usually see no more than 10 patients a day for acute illness injury or follow up. Their day is spent with clinics interdisciplinary team meetings annual and interval medical assessments.

On-Call Requirements:

• Every 6th weekday on call (5:00 PM 8:00 AM)
• On call one weekend every 6 weeks
• About 95% of call will be covered by phone and rarely requires a return to campus
• When on call for the weekend/holiday they must come in and perform infirmary rounds (16 bed Infirmary for acute and chronic care) and evaluate any acute illness or injuries among residents
• The remainder of the time will be via phone

Required:

• Must have an absolutely clean record no history of sanctions by the Board
• Must have current Texas license
• DEA
• NPI
• CPR/BLS

Preferred:

• Experience in treating those with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
• Familiar with electronic health records particularly Cerner
• Previous experience at a State Hospital or SSLC would be advantageous

Work hours:

• Hours: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM Monday Friday
• This is for at least 3 months.
