Job Summary
Owensboro Catholic Schools is seeking a Preschool Teacher. The ideal candidate will be energetic well-organized and skilled at problem-solving with strong written and verbal communication abilities. A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting early childhood education is essential. The Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing faith-filled and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children.
Education Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides developmentally appropriate care and education to children (up to five years old) in learning activities designed to promote emotional social physical spiritual and intellectual growth needed for primary school.
Plans and organizes classroom activities.
Plans and implements engaging age-appropriate lessons aligned with early childhood best practices and school curriculum.
Observes and assesses student development and communicates progress with parents/guardians.
Integrate Catholic values traditions and teachings into daily classroom activities.
Maintains classroom structure routines and positive behavior expectations.
Collaborates with school staff administration and families to support student success.
Maintains a clean organized and stimulating classroom environment.
Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education Child Development or a related field required.
Prior experience working with preschool-aged children preferred.
Practicing Catholic preferred.
Ability to lift and carry up to 2540 pounds.
Ability to actively engage with young children (sitting standing kneeling and playing).
The successful candidate must pass a criminal background check and complete safe environment training for the Diocese of Owensboro before employment can be granted.
