Job Summary
Join us for the 2026-2027 school year! In this role youll work alongside our Preschool Teachers and assistants to help create a fun safe and engaging learning environment for children in our 2- 3- and 4-year-old preschool classes.
Hours
The Preschool Aid - Floater is a part-time position working the assigned preschool class hours plus 1/2 hour before and after the class. Additional time will be allocated as needed for room preparation planning and meetings. The scheduled days of work will correspond with the Butler School District 53 schedule. Assist the Preschool Teachers and Assistants with planning and implementing program lessons and activities maintaining classroom equipment and sanitation communicating with parents as needed and performing other assigned duties as needed.
Education Experience and Training
- High School Diploma
- CPR and AED certification or willing to obtain
- Basic knowledge of computers
- Valid Illinois State Drivers License (Class D)
Essential Job Duties
- Communicate with the Preschool Teacher regularly on preschool and Park District matters.
- Communicate daily with preschool parents.
- Assist the Preschool Teacher with planning and implementing daily curriculum.
- Assist the Preschool Teacher with implementing program lessons and activities.
- Maintain room and equipment maintenance including set up take down and sanitation.
- Administer any prescribed medication in accordance with the Park District Safety Policy.
- Appropriate dress is required as indicated in the Dress Code Policy.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Recreation Director ofRecreation and Recreation and Executive Director.

- Support the Districts safety initiative including adhering to policies and procedures performingyour job in a safe manner attending required training seeking additional training as neededpromptly reporting accidents/incidents and proactively addressing hazards in the workplace.
