Prepare vegetables fruits meats poultry and other ingredients according to recipes menus and established food-preparation procedures.
Measure portion chop slice dice peel and otherwise prepare ingredients for cooking and meal service.
Assist cooks and kitchen staff with daily meal preparation and production.
Follow standardized recipes portion-control guidelines and food-quality standards.
Maintain clean sanitary and organized food-preparation areas equipment and work surfaces.
Provide courteous and respectful service to residents visitors and staff.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous food-service prep cook culinary or institutional kitchen experience preferred.
Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and kitchen sanitation practices.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions recipes menus and established food-service procedures.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality cleanliness and safety.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Dependable punctual and service-oriented.
Ability to communicate effectively and interact respectfully with residents visitors and coworkers.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in a residential care environment.
Must be willing to obtain and maintain required food-safety certifications if applicable.
Lift and carry food products supplies and kitchen equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
Bend stoop kneel crouch reach and twist while performing food-preparation and kitchen duties.
Push and pull carts racks containers and other kitchen equipment.
Perform repetitive motions associated with food preparation including chopping slicing stirring mixing and portioning.
Work in hot cold wet and humid kitchen environments.
Safely handle kitchen utensils equipment hot food and containers in accordance with established safety procedures.
