Position Summary
Alpha House an early childhood center located on the campus of Holy Family University is seeking passionate nurturing and skilled early childhood educators for PreK4 classrooms.
Teachers are responsible for fostering a safe engaging and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports the academic social-emotional physical and spiritual growth of each child. As part of a Catholic educational community and lab-school model in partnership with Holy Family Universitys School of Education educators are expected to integrate faith best instructional practices and innovative early childhood methodologies into daily instruction.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement engaging developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and early childhood best practices
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners including students requiring additional support or enrichment
- Build a positive respectful classroom culture that supports all learners
- Supervise all daily activities including arrival dismissal classroom learning outdoor play snack and rest periods while ensuring the safety and well-being of all students at all times
- Work collaboratively with fellow teachers specialists and staff to support a cohesive and nurturing school environment
- Maintain professionalism in all interactions with students families and colleagues
- Uphold confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries
- Respond effectively to dynamic classroom environments and student needs
- Lift and assist children as needed; ability to sit kneel and stand without assistance
Required Qualifications:
- One of the following is required:
- Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education Child Development Special Education Elementary Education or related field
OR
- Bachelors Degree with at least 30 credits in a related field
OR
- Associates Degree in a related field with 2 years of experience
OR
- Associates Degree with 30 credits in a related field with 3 years of experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and best practices
- Ability to create engaging student-centered learning experiences
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Creativity flexibility and enthusiasm for working with young children
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Familiarity with instructional technology and classroom tools
