Job Summary
Due to the growth of our Preschool program we are excited to be able to open an additional classroom! Austin Tracy Elementary is a PK-6th Grade Elementary School located in Lucas KY. We are approximately 10 miles from Glasgow KY and within 30 minutes drive from Bowling Green KY. We are proud to serve the Austin Tracy community!
The Preschool Teacher plays a vital role in laying the foundation for lifelong learning and development. This position involves creating engaging developmentally appropriate learning experiences for young children ages 35 in a public school setting. Preschool teachers foster curiosity build social-emotional skills and support the academic and personal growth of each child while maintaining a safe inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
Create and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities aligned with state early learning standards
Foster a safe inclusive and nurturing learning environment that celebrates diversity
Support social-emotional development and facilitate positive peer interactions
Manage classroom behavior and implement positive discipline strategies consistent with school and district policies
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about child progress milestones and concerns
Maintain accurate records and documentation of student development using district-approved systems
Collaborate with special education staff speech/language pathologists and other support services to meet individual student needs
Prepare and organize classroom materials learning centers and instructional resources
Supervise students during transitions outdoor play meals and other activities
Attend professional development workshops and staff meetings
Participate in curriculum planning and school improvement initiatives
Valid state preschool teaching credential or bachelors degree in early childhood education
Ability to pass background check and fingerprinting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families
Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
Experience working with diverse learners
Experience with early literacy and numeracy instruction
Training in trauma-informed or social-emotional learning practices
Comprehensive understanding of child development theories and age-appropriate learning practices
Ability to differentiate instruction for varying abilities and learning styles
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Patience flexibility and creativity in problem-solving
Physical stamina (ability to sit on floor lift children stand for extended periods)
Proficiency with classroom technology documentation tools and learning management systems
Cultural competence and commitment to inclusive education
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly
Ability to bend stoop kneel and move around the classroom frequently
Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment with frequent interruptions
Ability to remain on feet for extended periods
Public school preschool classroom
Standard school hours (typically a.m.3:30 p.m.) plus planning time
Occasional evening events (parent-teacher conferences school events professional development)
Exposure to common childhood illnesses and communicable diseases
