Practicing Attorney

The Natrona County District Attorneys Office in Casper Wyoming is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Assistant District Attorney to join its prosecution team. This position plays a critical role in protecting public safety and upholding justice by prosecuting felony-level criminal offenses throughout Natrona County.

As an Assistant District Attorney you will manage felony case prosecutions from initial review through trial and sentencing. Responsibilities include preparing and filing legal pleadings arguing motions before the court conducting jury and bench trials collaborating with law enforcement and investigative agencies and coordinating complex criminal investigations. This position also provides guidance and direction to assigned legal support staff to ensure the effective management of cases.

Successful candidates will possess strong analytical communication and litigation skills along with the initiative and professionalism necessary to handle a demanding felony caseload.

Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Wyoming be in good standing with the Wyoming State Bar and demonstrate a high level of initiative responsibility and commitment to the pursuit of justice.

• Initiates prosecution of individuals for felony cases.
• Reviews investigative reports and works with law enforcement officers and agencies to ensure that all offense elements have been investigated and that the defendants rights are not violated.
• Represents the State of Wyoming in jury trials and bench trials.
• Confers and negotiates with defense attorneys on pending cases using communication and persuasive skills to resolve the case.
• Meets with crime victims through the Victim/Witness Coordinator assigned to the case and ensures their rights are observed and they have an opportunity to participate in the criminal justice system.

Seeking an attorney with 2-8 years of experience and familiarity with the Wyoming criminal justice system

Juris Doctorate

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

• This position is mostly sedentary.
• Will require walking outside in the varying elements to get to the Courthouse.

• FLSA: Exempt
