Job Summary
Practice is open Sunday through Saturday 8 am to 8 pm. Successful candidate must be able to work any day of the week during practice hours of operation.
All VelocityCare staff are required to float to other VelocityCare locations to assist with staffing.
The RN Velocity Care
- Travel to other Velocity Care locations
- Delivers high-quality patient care and customer service while demonstrating respect dignity kindness and empathy in all interactions.
- Assumes accountability for coordination and delivery of individualized patient care across all age groups.
- Assesses plans implements and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Completes and documents age-specific assessments to support development of care plans.
- Collaborates with patients families and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans.
- Administers treatments and medications accurately and documents care in electronic medical records.
- Identifies and addresses patient and family education needs and incorporates them into care plans.
- Participates in performance improvement initiatives and quality outcomes.
- Advocates for patients and supports their rights and psychosocial needs.
- Applies knowledge of growth and development to provide age-appropriate care.
- Utlizes clinical expertise in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
- Implements strategies to improve patient outcomes throughput and resource utilization.
- Serves as a role model and supports development of peers students and team members.
- Manages resources prioritizes tasks and adapts to changing patient care needs.
- Supports orientation and training of new employees.
- Uses problem-solving skills to address patient care and operational challenges.
- Provides feedback to staff and contributes to a collaborative work environment.
- Participates in unit hospital and system initiatives to support shared decision-making.
- Supports education activities within the department.
Education: Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience required with demonstrated clinical and leadership expertise required.
Licensure Certification and/or Registration: Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required. For Behavioral Health roles de-escalation training must be completed within the required timeframe.
Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required. ACLS PALS or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Demonstrated leadership interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Must successfully complete orientation and competency validation. Ability to manage challenging patient situations as appropriate to role.

Compensation Range:
$30.47 - $45.71Employee pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications credentials education and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
