PPE Care Assistant Branch Manager (Kent)

About the Role

Were looking for a detail-oriented operationally focused Assistant Manager to partner with and assist the Branch Manager in leading a highly effective winning team. This person will coordinate daily high-volume PPE throughput at our Kent warehouse. This dynamic role combines variable duties such as leading others in the areas of production work workflow coordination training and problem-solving to ensure first responders receive best-in-class service.

The work is structured and process-driven: youll execute repeatable workflows while applying judgment for customer-specific requirements NFPA standards and product specifications. This role requires precision consistency and independent decision-making offering opportunities to master complex systems improve efficiency and take pride in delivering reliable high-quality outcomes every day.

Work Environment

Youll work directly in our operational warehouse working with and guiding a team handling firefighter PPE that must be inspected cleaned and maintained to strict safety standards to ensure high quality work and deadlines are met in a fast paced high volume work environment. While youll encounter soot residues and industrial cleaning agents these are essential to keeping gear compliant and firefighters safe.

The work is physically active and fast-paced requiring focus accuracy and consistency. Youll lead others and coordinate work and sometimes work independently for extended periods applying established procedures while adapting to customer-specific variables. Success comes from attention to detail problem-solving within repetitive processes and pride in knowing the work of you and your team directly impacts firefighter safety.

What Youll Be Doing

• Coordinate and schedule work of team members
• Perform some human resources functions such as reviewing timecards and being involved with hiring & employee reviews and other duties assigned by the branch manager
• Inspect launder and handle firefighter PPE in a production warehouse environment
• Ensure quality standards and met and maintained throughout the process
• Process PPE orders using established workflows with customer and garment-specific requirements
• Apply NFPA 1850 and internal standards accurately and consistently while adapting to situational variables
• Perform detailed high-volume data entry related to orders repairs and customer information
• Maintain accurate records and documentation throughout the process
• Identify errors inconsistencies or missing information and resolve or escalate appropriately
• Coordinate daily and short-term production schedules to prevent bottlenecks
• Operate cleaning testing and inspection equipment as required
• Ensure safe functionality of all laundry and repair equipment
• Participate in shipping receiving and inventory counts
• Drive company vehicles for routine pickups and deliveries to fire stations
• Support facility organization cleanliness and workflow efficiency
• Work independently for extended periods
• Train team members on processes expectations and quality standards
• Coordinate with the Branch Manager to ensure timely intake processing and delivery schedules

Must Have Skills

• Experience leading and coaching others as a manager assistant manager or lead
• Experience in high volume process driven production or manufacturing
• The ability to manage multiple processes to achieve high quality results
• Comfortable in a warehouse setting with physical demands
• Ability to stand and move for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day)
• Ability to lift and handle items up to 50 pounds
• Valid drivers license and comfort driving regularly as part of the workday
• Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel for operational data entry
• Proficient in reading writing and comprehending English

• Familiarity with detailed documentation and traceability requirements

• Experience with shipping and receiving
• Knowledge of industrial laundry or PPE inspection
