Position: Powertrain Test Engineer
Location: Ann Arbor MI
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Industry: Automotive R&D
Key Responsibilities:
Execute engine powertrain and vehicle/chassis dynamometer testing.
Work with emission analyzers and analyze emissions particulate matter and fuel-economy data.
Validate test results against CFR emission requirements and certification procedures including FTP HWFE and US06.
Troubleshoot equipment and vehicle anomalies in test cells and environmental chambers.
Support powertrain testing operations prototype development and R&D activities.
Provide engineering support for testing equipment and resolve operational issues.
Develop countermeasures and solutions for day-to-day test-cell/equipment problems.
Support battery development and testing activities at the new Battery Lab facility.
Work with data acquisition tools such as Panel 4 ETAS or Hioki.
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Engineering.
Experience with powertrain engine propulsion or automotive testing.
Knowledge of CFR emission testing requirements.
Experience with data acquisition and test equipment.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical prints.
Preferred:
Professional Engineering (PE) license.
Automotive R&D emissions testing dynamometer or test-cell experience.
Experience with battery testing/development.
